Pocket

Branding / UI Design

In crafting Pocket, our aim was to create an effortlessly intuitive and enjoyable application, designed to empower users and their families in seamlessly organizing their finances collaboratively. Our overarching objective is to foster financial growth and learning within families. Both the application and website were meticulously developed to ensure user-friendly navigation, eliminating the need for external assistance.

These initial Pocket concepts represent the early stages of brainstorming for the logo design, predating our decision to embrace the simplicity and directness of the current Pocket logo. Despite its minimalistic nature, the existing logo has been subtly enhanced with strategic shapes, creating an impression reminiscent of a container designed to store money.

In the course of our research, we identified certain challenges, particularly with the user flow, where older users faced difficulties in comprehension. Addressing this, we undertook a meticulous revision of our language choices to ensure universal understanding. A key focus for us was providing intuitive hints to guide users in the collaborative savings process, differentiating our application from others in the financial tracking realm. Incorporating straightforward graphs and illustrations played a pivotal role in capturing the attention of a younger demographic, enhancing the overall user experience.

This project marked a pivotal juncture in my design journey, requiring the adept synthesis of extensive data gathered and a thorough examination of our competitors. Our goal was to carve out a distinctive niche in the market, creating an application with broad appeal that catered to diverse needs. The realization that the design landscape is saturated with myriad apps prompted a strategic approach—striking a balance between uniqueness and user-friendly accessibility. Moving forward, we are poised to expand our insights through external research, delving deeper into the strategies employed by our competitors.
